NIP has always believed that the power of inclusion comes from connection-- relationships, friendships, partnerships & collaborations. We are proud to have helped build these connections among children between programs and across organizations for the last 18 years. Now, as we see the scope and reach of our mission grow through online education and training opportunities, we are excited to announce our partnership with a like-minded inclusion leader - Partners for Youth with Disabilities (PYD)!
Since 2016, PYD has been building and supporting an online learning platform focused on disability inclusion best practices. This platform currently features over 30 hours of dedicated learning available, via 10 take-at-your-own pace courses, 13+ webinar recordings, monthly live webinars, PDF guidebooks and resources, and disability inclusion assessments. And soon, it will also host trainings from NIP!
On the PYD site, the learning topics include: inclusive communication, Universal Design, Universal Design for Learning, behavior management best practices, autism, disability rights & the ADA, race & disability, and more. A perfect spot for NIP’s inclusive recreation content.
To kickstart our partnership, we’re offering the webinar Strategies for Inclusive Youth Recreation Programming on PYD’s online learning platform on July 21st. Click the button below to learn more and stay tuned for more exciting news on our partnership in the coming months!
