- Specialists share recommendations for family & child supports, resources, and respite.
- Panelists offer tips for stress relief, key considerations for inclusion support, strategies for school year & program transitions, and advice for moving forward.
Coffee Talk 3 with NIP: Lessons Learned from Inclusive Essential Childcare Programs
Many early childhood programs have been providing essential services throughout the pandemic and have navigated social distancing, precautionary procedures, and safety guidelines with positivity, creativity, and innovation. In this webinar, the National Inclusion Project and inclusive child care professionals discuss the successful strategies for meeting the needs of the young children and families in their care.
- Panelists will discuss the most successful strategies they have implemented so far to help children cope, learn, & grow.
- They will also share key lessons learned & effective problem solving solutions.
- Finally, they will highlight their top “go to” resources, materials, & supports to sustain inclusion during these difficult times.
- Questions are answered during the event and addressed fully in an FAQ document.

A Round Table Discussion of Inclusion Strategies When Reopening Camp
As camps move toward reopening and plan unique activities for Summer 2020, it’s important to consider the needs of children with disabilities. In this Coffee Talk, the National Inclusion Project and inclusive recreation specialists joined for a round table discussion of strategies to provide meaningful, inclusive camp experiences in-person this summer.
- Discussants highlighted best practices of inclusive recreation programming that can be implemented even in socially-distanced or physically-distanced settings.
- Discussants provided practical strategies for designing or redesigning activities to engage children with a variety of strengths and needs.
