WE'LL MEET YOU WHERE YOU ARE ON YOUR
journey to inclusion
NIP offers multiple packages of education, training, and professional development support for a wide range of recreation programs from camps, to afterschool programs, to community centers, to athletics, to childcare centers, and beyond! Big or small. We tailor session content and design them to meet your program’s needs/interests. We can…
- Introduce you to the basics of inclusion
- Enhance your understanding of inclusion recreation strategies to help all children succeed
- Enrich the inclusive programming and supports in your program
- Train your staff to include participants with diverse abilities in all programs, activities, & settings
- Educate you on the Standards for Inclusive Recreation Programs and becoming a nationally recognized Accredited inclusion program
Below are some of our most popular training options. Whether you are interested in one of these or have no idea where to start (maybe you're somewhere in between?), email our Director of Inclusive Recreation AmandaKloo@inclusionproject.org to talk through your options.
I appreciated that the NIP training was customized for our program. It took the inclusion strategies we already implement to a whole new level with new ideas and new resources to serve our children even better.

SUMMER STAFF TRAINING
Summer is fun for EVERYONE!
Are you ready to include this summer? Inclusion means that ALL staff support ALL participants in ALL settings during ALL activities. That means that everyone in your organization must have the knowledge and skills to include EVERY participant, those with and without disabilities. Make sure all of your directors, counselors, coaches, programmers, instructors, supervisors, staff, and volunteers are ready to help kids of ALL abilities learn, grow, laugh, and connect together this summer.
From a 1 hour session to a full day (or more), NIP can provide your staff with the training, resources, and tools needed to meaningfully include children with and without disabilities in all aspects of your program. Sessions available virtually and in person. Email AmandaKloo@inclusionproject.org for more info or to talk through your options.

Training Partnerships
Inclusion accommodates individual needs and NIP’s customized partnerships do too! Through our partnerships, we provide scaffolded support over time to help build an organization’s infrastructure to be inclusive both in mission and in action across all levels and services. It can include any combination of education/training/consultation/accreditation activities that are the best fit for your program. We collaborate with program leadership to develop a partnership tailored specifically for each program’s needs, readiness, timelines, and goals.
Partnerships can last a full year or extend across multiple years and can include:
- In-depth assessment and evaluation of inclusive practices
- Multiple inclusion trainings customized for different program types, staff needs, and organizational goals
- Collaborative inclusive resource creation, materials design, and curriculum development
- Long term goal setting and action planning
- Ongoing consultation and coaching for successful implementation over time
- And more…
If you think a partnership with NIP is what your program may need, email AmandaKloo@inclusionproject.org for more info.
